INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, June 26. OLYMPIC silver medalist Christine Magnuson, who missed out on the 2012 London Olympic squad after winning silvers in 2008, picked up the sole women's 50-meter fly roster spot for the U.S. during the Nationals and World Championship Trials.

Magnuson raced her way to a winning time of 26.08 to vault herself to sixth in the world this year. Magnuson made a huge mark on the sport in 2008 with a silver medal in the 100 fly as well as part of the 400 medley relay at the Beijing Games. She's struggled to make it back to the same level since then, but her focus on the 50 fly in its first time as a selection event for the U.S. proved successful.

North Coast's Kendyl Stewart turned in a swift second-place time of 26.19 to finish just outside the top 10 in the world, while Olympian Claire Donahue of Western Kentucky will need to focus on her 100 to make the team after a third-place time of 26.23.

Stanford's Felicia Lee (26.54), Auburn's Olivia Scott (26.65), Golden West's Cindy Tran (27.08), Midlands' Natalie Hinds (27.11) and NCAP's Janet Hu (27.19) also competed in the finale.

California's Rachel Bootsma took the B final title with a 26.90, while Mission Viejo 15-year-old Katie McLaughlin clocked a 27.62 to win the C final.
