SwimmingWorld.TV Video: Clark Burckle Discusses Drama Behind 200 Breast DQ and Reinstatement

PHOENIX, Arizona, December 1. IN this exclusive SwimmingWorld.TV interview from the 2012 USA Swimming winter nationals, Clark Burckle speaks about the events that led to his disqualification and eventual reinstatement in the men's 200-yard breaststroke final tonight.

Burckle, who swam the second-fastest time in history with a 1:51.20, defends his claim that he did not perform the illegal kick during an underwater pull that a stroke judge initially called. Burckle, joined by teammate Austen Thompson, is a proponent of legal swimming, and says he teaches his teammates at Arizona that principle often. Thompson also speaks on the successful meet the breaststrokers had at nationals and what it means to have such a great crop of swimmers with him there.
