USA Swimming Sectionals, Columbia: Parkway Swim Club Picks Up Trio of Victories

COLUMBIA, Missouri, July 20. PARKWAY Swim Club earned three wins on the night while Haley Molden and Eegan Groome each won their third individual event of the meet tonight during the third finals session.

Topeka Swim Association's Haley Molden, already a two-time winner at the meet, added a third victory to her repertoire after posting the top time in the women's 400m free at 4:19.50. Kansas City Blazers Katarina Sickle and Sara Lopez picked up the next two spots with times of 4:22.22 and 4:23.31, respectively. Missouri's Eegan Groome followed with a third victory of his own in the men's 400m free. Groome swam a 4:00.96 to top Arkansas Dolphins' Minki Kang (4:04.56) and Columbia's Levi Hanks (4:04.96).

Missouri's Rachel Ripley, a two-time winner at this meet already, added the women's 100m breast title, posting a 1:10.85 to easily outdistance Kansas City Blazers' Bryce Hinde (1:12.34) and Kansas Aquatics' Brittany Rospierski (1:13.02).
Missouri teammates Mark Conroy and Igor Kozlovskij turned even at the halfway point of the men's 100m breast, but Conroy pulled away at the very end to win, 1:02.59 to 1:02.77. Gage Crosby of Razorback Aquatics had the fastest second fifty in the field to take third in 1:03.52.

Parkway's Heather Lundstrom swept the butterfly events with a 2:17.58 to win the 200m fly this evening. Sofiia Filatova of Kansas Aquatics took second in 2:19.87, while Columbia's Elizabeth Walker rounded out the top three in 2:20.37. Lundstrom's teammate at Parkway, Nickolaus Orf, made it a sweep as he won the men's 200m fly in 2:03.26, more than two seconds in front of teammate Luke Schleuter (2:05.70). Colton Krause of Phillips 66 placed third in 2:07.75.

In the women's 100m back, Taylor Wohrley earned Parkway's third win of the night and her second of the meet with a time of 1:02.33. Hannah Angell of the Kansas City Blazers touched second in 1:04.41, just ahead of Lawrence Aquahawks' Courtney Caldwell (1:04.48). Missouri State's Paul Le picked up his second win of the meet with the top time in the men's 100m back at 56.18. Seth Musser of Kansas City Blazers earned second place in 57.79, while Greater Omaha Aquatics' Robert Glover swam a 58.13 for third.

The Kansas City Blazers, leading both the men's and women's team standings through three days of racing, added another chunk of points to their total with wins in both 800m free relay races. Sara Lopez, Hannah Musser, Monica Dudley and Katarina Sickle won the women's race in 8:27.83, while Benjamin Bravence, Benjamin Scheffer, Louis Behnen and Seth Musser tallied the top men's time at 7:41.16.
