OMAHA, Nebraska, June 29. NATHAN Adrian dominated the men's 100 free finale with a victorious Trials textile best at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials.

Adrian raced to a half-second victory over SwimMAC's Cullen Jones, 48.10 to 48.46, to earn the individual Trials title. That swim beat Jason Lezak's Trials textile best of 48.17 during semifinals of the 2004 event in Long Beach. The time also moved up to fourth in the world with his swim, behind James Magnussen (47.10), James Roberts (47.63) and Yannick Agnel (48.02). The finish gave Adrian a return to the Olympics after being a prelim swimmer on the Olympic gold medal 400 free relay for Team USA in 2008.

Jones also returns to the Olympics, this time with an individual swim as well as relay duty after taking third in the event back in 2008. Matt Grevers, who scratched the men's 200 back to focus on this event, earned relay duty with a third-place time of 48.55. Ricky Berens earned his second relay swim in London with a fourth-place 48.80 after making the 800 free relay earlier in the meet.

Jimmy Feigen, the first collegiate male to be in position to be selected for the 2012 team, took fifth with a 48.84 for a relay alternate spot. The hero of the 400 free relay in 2008, Jason Lezak raced to sixth with a 48.88 to have a shot to be pulled into the Olympic team as an alternate as well.

Scot Robison (48.92) and 2008 Trials champion Garrett Weber-Gale (49.21) finished seventh and eighth in the event.
