Poll of the Week: Who Should Win Swimming World’s Female World Swimmer of 2012?

PHOENIX, Arizona, November 16. IN a couple of weeks, we at Swimming World Magazine will unveil our picks for the best aquatic sports athletes of 2012. Some might find the choices to be easy, but having been a part of the panel, I can assure that it is not. This week, we want to know who you would pick for world female athlete of the year.

All of our choices won Olympic gold medals in London. Would you pick Missy Franklin, Ranomi Kromowidjojo, Allison Schmitt, Rebecca Soni or Ye Shiwen? Go to swimmingworldmagazine.com/poll right now to place your vote before next Friday, November 23.

The Golden Goggles will be held Monday in New York City, and our final Poll of the Week asking for your picks in top categories was a close one. We wanted to know who you thought should win the Golden Goggles for male American swimmer of the year, and with 46 percent of the votes, Michael Phelps was on top. We had a rare tie for second, with Nathan Adrian and Ryan Lochte both getting 27 percent. We'll see who actually wins Monday night.
