Industry News: Olympic Coach, Former University of Texas Head Coach Kim Brackin Launches Brackin Elite Swim Training

AUSTIN, Texas, October 17. INTERNATIONALLY-renowned swim coach Kim Brackin today announced the launch of Brackin Elite Swim Training (BEST), an Austin-based coaching business that focuses on improving technique and efficiency for elite athletes using state of the art aquatic training technology.

Located less than one mile from the University of Texas campus, BEST features an Elite Model Endless Pool complete with video capture, underwater mirrors and the DartFishTV online viewing application for the ultimate personalized training experience.

“BEST allows me to tailor the coach-athlete relationship in a way that's never been possible before,” says Brackin. “Most coaches never have the privilege of spending one-on-one pool time with each athlete, working repetitiously on technique to improve speed. At BEST, I can provide individualized attention to high-performance swimmers–including college-bound, collegiate and masters swimmers as well as triathletes–in a controlled environment where they can see and feel the difference in their technique like never before.”

Swimming statically in the Elite Model Endless Pool, swimmers will receive real-time feedback from Coach Brackin, who will be standing right at their side. They can view and correct stroke elements in the moment, as they watch in mirrors below and above the water. Cameras within the pool are synced to DartFishTV, a leading sports video technology, to capture the swimmer's performance, allowing them to review their footage at anytime, and show the footage to their primary coaches and college recruiters.

“We're thrilled to add Kim to the roster of coaches who use the Endless Pool Elite to bring their athletes' training to the next level,” said James Murdock, CEO and Founder of Endless Pools. “She has a track record of excellence that mirrors Endless Pools' commitment to creating innovative products that improve people's lives.”

With over 20 years of collegiate swim coaching experience, Brackin has proven her dedication to helping swimmers reach their potential as elite athletes. She coached Zimbabwean swimmer Kirsty Coventry to Olympic Gold in the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games, served as Head Women's Swimming Coach at the University of Texas at Austin from 2006 to 2012, and acted as Co-Head Coach at Auburn University from 1997 to 2005.

“Kim has so many qualities that make her an amazing elite coach, but if I was to choose one that has attributed to my success, it would be her perfection with technique. I have been honored to have her as a coach,” says seven-time Olympic medalist and Brackin's client, Kirsty Coventry.

In addition to the partnership with Endless Pools and DartFishTV, BEST has partnered with respected brands such as TYR and Jack and Adam's Bicycles, along with elite professional triathletes like Terra Castro and Patrick Evoe.

“Coach Brackin's expertise and experience coaching athletes to the top level speak for themselves,” said Patrick Evoe, a professional triathlete and a premiere BEST client. “The swim leg of the triathlon is critical for setting up my race. But for me–and most other professional triathletes–making improvements in the swim portion of triathlon has been the biggest developmental challenge because it's not an aerobic or strength issue; it's a technique issue. With a rare combination of tools and expertise, I know Coach Brackin can take my swimming to the next level through focused technical training.”

BEST offers long term personalized training packages, short-term mini-camps intensive instruction, and other individualized training services. A fully furnished on-site suite is available for BEST clients traveling from outside of the Austin area. For more information on Brackin Elite Swim Training, visit www.brackineliteswimtraining.com.
