Industry News: FINIS Signs Open Water Star Trent Grimsey

LIVERMORE, California, December 6. FINIS, a world leader in technical swimming products is excited to welcome Trent Grimsey, three time Australian Champion in the 5km and 10km Open water events and Australian National Open Water Swimming Team member. His strength in open water swimming is demonstrated time and time again and resulted in the 2009 FINA World Cup 10km (Sharjah) Gold medal, a Silver at the 2009 FINA World Championships 25km in Rome and a 2009 Gold in King of the Sea 10km in Brazil.

After a tumultuous 2010 including a bout of Ross River Virus that forced Trent to take off the majority of the season, he came back with a fury and placed first in the Great Australian Swim in Coolangatta and went on to place third at the FINA Grand Prix Lac Magog 34km race in Quebec, Canada and win the World Cup two months ago in Lac Megantic, Canada. This last weekend Trent placed first in the Bondi to Bronte Ocean Swim in Australia and the WA Open Water Championships.

Trent went on to place numerous times in 2011 and shows great promise in 2012. We are proud to have him as part of the FINIS Team. Keep your eyes peeled as he travels to Brazil to reclaim the title as King of the Sea on December 12th.

Check the FINIS blog for updates and tips from Trent Grimsey and new products from FINIS.
