No. 20 Kaitlin Grover Commits to UCLA

ROSWELL, Georgia, September 26. UCLA head coach Cyndi Gallagher demonstrated some national recruiting reach by scoring a verbal commitment from the 20th-ranked recruit in the Class of 2014 — SwimAtlanta’s Kaitlin Grover.

Officially committed to swim at UCLA!!!! Go Bruins!! 💙🐻💛— Katie Grover (@grover_katie) September 26, 2013

Grover, ranked 20th in the Class of 2014 by CollegeSwimming.com, hails from Roswell, Ga., and competed on the club circuit under the SwimAtlanta banner. She also represents Milton High School at the prep level.

Grover will add a remarkably versatile threat to the Bruins squad. Her best effort is a 54.22 in the 100-yard backstroke from the 2012 Florida Gator Swim Club Holiday Classic, while she also checked in with a 1:59.02 in the 200-yard back at that meet. She also dropped a 53.55 in the 100-yard fly at the 2013 Georgia High School State Championships, and is the defending state champion in the 100 fly and 100 back from that meet heading into her senior year.

Grover, the third-ranked recruit out of the State of Georgia, also has some long course meter potential. She has a 1:01.05 100-meter fly to her credit form the 2013 Speedo Junior Nationals this summer, while also owning a 2:02.49 in the 200-meter free and 56.90 in the 100-meter free from that meet as well.
