Tennessee Lady Volunteers Mop Up in Recruiting Today; Score Trio of Five-Star Recruits

PHOENIX, Arizona, October 9. WHILE fellow Southeastern Conference member Georgia made the biggest recent noise by clinching the services of three of the top 10 female recruits in the country, Tennessee's Matt Kredich has landed some counter punches with some significant pledges as well.

Today, North Baltimore's Camryne Morris made the call to Tennessee to become a future Lady Vol. Morris is a five-star recruit in the Swimming World College Recruit Ranking system, and is a versatile swimmer with strong times across the board. She already has NCAA Division I B cuts in the 200-yard free (1:47.51), 500-yard free (4:42.70), 1650-yard free (16:19.30) and 400-yard IM (4:17.47). Additionally, she has a truckload of strong long course meter times in the 200-meter free (2:01.10), 400-meter free (4:10.00), 800-meter free (8:35.14), 200-meter fly (2:13.93) and 400-meter IM (4:56.99) as NBAC continues to put out talented multi-eventers. Additionally, Morris' 1500-meter freestyle top time in 2012 of 16:44.66 ranks her 51st in the world. She was ranked 44th in the world in the event in 2011 with a 16:30.98, while her 2011 top time of 8:35.14 in the 800-meter free ranked her 48th in the world.

CollegeSwimming.com ranks Morris at the eighth-best swimmer in the Class of 2013, and as the top swimmer out of the state of Maryland. She's a rising distance star, which will fit right in with the burgeoning distance program Kredich and associate coach Tyler Fenwick are building.

Meanwhile, Kredich also picked up the services of five-star recruit Colleen Callahan after she committed yesterday. Callahan, who swims for the EHT Seahawks and preps at Atlantic City High in New Jersey, is a breaststroke star. She has swift long course meter times in the 100-meter breast (1:11.11) and 200-meter breast (2:34.16). She is also ranked 37th in the nation by CollegeSwimming.com, as well as #1 in the state of New Jersey by a wide margin over Lakeland Hills Family YMCA's Abigail Fisher.

“I really liked the team and the coach (Matt Kredich),” Callahan told Swimming World. “The atmosphere was really nice and I really felt at home there. I knew that was the school for me.”

Additionally, Georgia Coastal's Patricia Forrester also made the call to head to Rocky Top as a collegiate swimmer. Forrester, a five-star recruit, is another all-around star giving Kredich some serious versatility out of the Class of 2013. She has an NCAA DI B cut in the 200-yard fly with a 1:58.81, while also having strong long course meter times in the 200-meter free (2:02.90), 100-meter back (1:05.68), 100-meter fly (1:01.64) and 200-meter fly (2:13.33). CollegeSwimming.com ranks her 49th in the country, and second out of the state of Georgia behind 22nd-ranked Nicole Stafford out of Dynamo Swim Club and Westminster Prep.

Forrester also has a strong pedigree. Her father is Bill Forrester, the 1976 Olympic gold medalist in the 200–meter butterfly.

“I chose Tennessee because I loved everything about it,” Forrester told Swimming World. “I absolutely loved the coaches and the team so much, and I knew that that was something I wanted to be a part of and I knew in my heart that Tennessee is where I want to be for the next four years.
