Georgia, Arizona, Tennessee Earn High School Swimmer Pledges

PHOENIX, Arizona, September 27. THIS morning, news broke that five-star Janardan Burns of Mission Viejo made the call to UC-Berkeley to become a Golden Bear. Throughout the day, plenty of other recruiting news broke with coaches getting verbal commitments.

Five-star Emily Cameron made the call to Jack Bauerle at the University of Georgia as she heads from Pennsylvania and the Lancaster Aquatic Club down south to compete in the Southeastern Conference. Cameron is an immediate scoring threat for the Bulldogs as her lifetime best in the 200-yard IM of 1:57.74 clocked in high school competition last year would have placed her in the B final at the NCAA Division I Championships this year. Cameron is also a strong breaststroker with speed in both the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke events. Cameron is among the top recruits out of Pennsylvania, a state loaded with top-flight talent. Germantown Academy's Rachel Zilinskas and JCC Sailfish's Leah Smith are other bluechippers being recruited out of Pennsylvania this year.

“I can't wait to be part of such an amazing team, and be coached by the best,” Cameron told Swimming World. “It is going to be a fantastic four years, I can already tell. Go Dawgs!”

Five-star Erik Risolvato, who swims for Shawnee High School in Ohio, jumpstarted Eric Hansen's fall recruiting with a verbal commitment to the University of Arizona. Risolvato is a sprinter who can make an impact for the Wildcats in the Class of 2013 as the top recruit out of Ohio. Risolvato clocked times of 19.62 in the 50-yard free, and 44.03 in the 100-yard free at the 2012 Ohio State High School Championships in February, and will look to improve during his final season in Ohio.

Three-star Morgan Dickson of Patriot Aquatics also made her decision recently. The developing distance freestyler pledged her services to Matt Kredich and the Lady Volunteers at the University of Tennessee. Dickson is among the top five recruits coming out of Illinois. Most of Dickson's top times have come at USA Swimming Junior National meets with short course efforts of 4:49.55 in the 500 free and a 16:40.92 in the 1650 free. Her best long course times also occurred in Junior National competition with a 4:22.22 in the 400 and 17:09.07 in the 1500 free to her credit.
