AUSTIN, Texas, March 27. TIES for first place rarely happen in championship meets, so it was a shock to see Brad Tandy and Kristian Gklolomeev share the top spot on the podium at the NCAA Men’s Division I Swimming and Diving Championships.

In a joint video interview with the media after the race, the two talked about their journey to the NCAA meet, which was not a long one. Tandy was just recently cleared to compete for Arizona earlier this month after months of clearing up eligibility issues, while Gklolomeev arrived on the campus of the University of Alabama in January.

Both talked about the race and their emotions of seeing “1” next to their names on the scoreboard, in addition to commenting on what they did in the race to give them the opportunity to take the win.
