Queens’ Caroline Arakelian Downs NCAA Division II Record in 200 Back

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina, February 16. AT the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Championships today, Queens of Charlotte’s Caroline Arakelian continued a strong meet with an NCAA Division II record in the women’s 200-yard backstroke.

Arakelian dropped a time of 1:56.40 in the 200 back to clip the previous record of 1:56.44 set by Delta State’s Anastasia Klyaroskaya back in December. Those two will meet up next month at the NCAA Division II Championships, and should create some fireworks.

The final session of the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Championships is still underway with teams battling for victory in what has become one of the deeper Division II conferences in the nation.
