Former Golden Bear Lauren Driscoll Set To Make Transfer to Tennessee

PHOENIX, Arizona, May 1. THE University of Tennessee will have a major talent join the women's team in Knoxville this fall, as Lauren Driscoll announced that she will be transferring from the University of California-Berkeley.

In her one season as a Golden Bear, Driscoll made an impact for Teri McKeever's squad at the Pac-12 championships, qualifying for the NCAAs in the 500 free, 400 IM and 1650 free. She was unable to score in either event, placing outside the top 30 in all three.

Driscoll was highly recruited as a senior at American Heritage School, making the junior national team as a distance swimmer. Most notably, she was the junior Pan Pacific champion in the 800 free at the 2010 meet and has swum at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Trials.

“Honestly, it was very hard (the recruiting process) doing this a second time around,” Driscoll told Swimming World. “But I am very confident that Tennessee is the right fit for me and I am so excited to be a part of the program! I got a great feel from the coaches and swimmers. I instantly felt like I belonged there.”

Driscoll will work with a distance group that will include NCAA finalist Lindsay Gendron along with Camryne Morris, Madeline Tegner, Morgan Dickson and now Driscoll. Not to mention the men's side of the equation that will include the likes of Evan Pinion and David Heron.
