Saint Louis Slides By Western Illinois

MACOMB, Illinois, October 6. SAINT Louis won 13 of 16 women's events and 10 of 16 men's events in dual-meet victories over Western Illinois Saturday afternoon.

The Billiken women captured a 199-85 victory, while the Billiken men prevailed 172-128.

Taylor Streid turned in four first-place efforts to lead the way. Streid won the 100 fly (59.12), 100 free (54.84) and 50 fly (27.11) and was a member of the winning 200 medley relay team (1:53.05), joining Melanie Battaglia, Jalynn Gieseke and Julia Herbig.

Morgan Peterson also won three individual events, touching first in the 1000 free (10:50.22), 100 breast (1:10.01) and 200 IM (2:13.07). Gieseke topped the field in the 200 free (2:01.06) and 50 free (25.89).

Also winning for the women's team were Ellie Lorenzi in the 50 back (29.35); Abbey King in the 500 free (5:15.50); Kelsey Coleman in 3-meter diving (117.30 points); and the 400 free relay team of Lizzy Osterman, Herbig, Emily Kopec and Taylor Rogers (3:44.59).

For the men's team, Brendan Hulseman, Zack Billingsley and Will Butzke each won two individual races and a relay. Hulseman took top honors in the 200 free (1:43.39) and 100 free (48.04), Billingsley won the 50 breast (27.79) and 50 free (21.95), and Butzke touched first in the 100 fly (53.15) and 50 fly (23.74). Stephen Hansen won the 100 breast (1:01.09), while Justin Pasquesi claimed victory in the 1000 free (10:04.01).

Patrick May, Hansen, Butzke and Billingsley won the 200 medley relay (1:37.30), while Patrick MacArt, Hulseman, May and Sean Conway captured the 400 free relay (3:12.20).
