New Mexico State vs. Texas Christian

FORT WORTH, Texas, October 21. TCU's women's swimming and diving team improved to 3-1 on the season with a 138-105 triumph over New Mexico State on Friday evening inside the TCU University Rec Center Natatorium.

The Horned Frogs caught a massive break to open the meet as New Mexico State's winning quartet in the 400-medley relay was disqualified giving TCU a 1-2 finish and 15 team points. Lizzy Oster, Van-Anh Hoang, Amanda Vincent and Sabine Rasch touched the wall in 3:54.79 to claim first-place honors.

TCU continued its winning ways for the next three events as Kaitlyn Vann, Katie Scarsella and Parris Schoppa each scored victories for the Frogs. Vann won the 1000-free (10:36.77), Scarsella claimed the 200-free (1:52.90) and Schoppa won the 50-free (24.39). Scarsella out-touched NMSU's Aliena Schmidtke, who clocked a 1:52.92.

Rasch picked up her fifth individual win of the season in the 100-freestyle when she cleared the competition by nearly a second and touched the wall in 51.59. The Luckenwalde, Germany, native has lost only won in a sprint event while wearing a TCU uniform.

In the 500-free, freshman Mackenzie Schuler was a winner for TCU with her time of 5:07.37. The Frogs closed the meet with a win in the 200-free relay when Rasch, Scarsella, Lauren Kaufman and Schoppa tallied a 1:36.07.

TCU returns to action Nov. 4 when it hosts Rice at the TCU URC Natatorium.
