Nebraska-Kearney vs. Nebraska-Omaha

OMAHA, Nebraska, October 8. THE UNO swimming & diving team opened regular-season competition on Saturday, hosting Nebraska-Kearney in an unscored dual meet at HPER Pool.

The Mavericks had the top-placing swimmer in every event.

UNO's 200-yard relay team of freshmen Jenna Foiles and Sarah Blount and sophomores Christen Young and Ashley Kneifl won with a time of 1:57.28. Young picked up another first-place finish in the 400-yard individual medley with a mark of 4:53.88.

Senior Colleen Klaiber clocked the top time in the 100-yard butterfly in 59.90.

Freshman Jenna Foiles finished first in the 100-yard backstroke, posting a 1:02.84.

Sophomore Tiesha Scipio picked up a pair of top finishes in the 50-yard freestyle (25.09) and 100 free (56.02).

Senior Amanda Schulte led the pack in both the one- and three- meter diving events.

The Mavericks hit the road next weekend, traveling to Air Force for a meet on Oct. 15 at 2 p.m. (CT).
