Indiana’s Looze Adds Nine Male Recruits for Next Season

BLOOMINGTON, Ind., USA, July 1. RAY Looze, who just finished filling out his coaching staff at Indiana University, has signed nine more male athletes for the upcoming season. Looze recently added the women’s coaching duties to his men’s obligations after Dorsey Tierney took a co-coaching role with the Auburn University women. Looze had signed two swimmers during the fall.

The recruiting class is headlined by Tyler Boulden and Keith Dawley, who combined for seven All-American selections during their scholastic careers. Boulden is a product of North Central High (Indianapolis) and was a four-time state qualifier. He also claimed a sectional crown in the 100-yard breaststroke. As for Dawley, the Allen High (Texas) graduate was a district and regional titlist in the 100 butterfly and qualified for Junior Nationals in the 100 and 200 fly events.

Stefan Troxel (Jackson, Mo.) is a recruit who will add depth in the distance-free events. Troxel competed at April’s World Championship Trials in Indianapolis and has been a Senior National and Junior National qualifier. Troxel will be supported by George Grcevich, from Chesterton High (Ind.). Grcevich helped his school to a 43-1 dual-meet record and collected 16 sectional and 12 conference championships during high school.

Other Indiana recruits are Justin Peterfish (Delaware, Ohio), James Schwartz (Mount Laurel, N.J.), Michael Son (West Lynnwood, Wash.), Jeff Wood (Fairport, N.Y.), Heath Tameris (Cincinnati, Ohio). Last fall, Indiana inked A.J. Miller (Middlebury, Ind.) and Steven Murry (Memphis, Tenn.).

"The class shaped up very nicely," Looze said. "After signing A.J. Miller and Steven Murry in the fall, we are very pleased to end up with 11 guys, which was our best-case scenario moving forward into next year."
