Pair of Fundraisers on Tap for Dave Denniston

AUBURN, Alabama, April 12. THE Auburn swimming and diving program has set up a pair of fundraising events for Dave Denniston, the former NCAA breaststroke champion who was paralyzed earlier this year during a sledding accident.

The first fundraiser will be held Wednesday night at 9 p.m. when the Velco Pygmies put on a concert at Auburn’s War Eagle Supper Club. The club is located on South College and there is a $10 admission charge.

The second fundraiser is slated for Saturday from 3- 9 p.m. at the Sports Academy at Midway Plaza, located on Pepperell Parkway in Opelika. The event, titled “Swing, Dodge and Dunk for Dave” provides the chance to take some swings in the batting cages, dunk local celebrities in a dunking booth or participate in a dodge-ball tournament.

All donations from “Swing, Dodge and Dunk for Dave” will go directly to Dave’s medical assistance fund. Those donations are also 100% tax deductible. For further information on Saturday’s event, call 334-749-4040.

Individuals who wish to donate to the Dave Denniston Fund can mail a check
to the American National Bank, Dave Denniston Fund, 3908 Grand Ave., Laramie, WY 82070. Donations can also be made online by visiting www.davedenniston.com.
