Emmaus Upends North Penn High School, Ends Nation’s Longest Dual Meet Win Streak Dating Back to 1987

By John Lohn

EMMAUS, Pa., February 2. THE North Penn winning streak is history. After 18 years and 251 consecutive victories in dual meet competition, the Knights were upended Monday afternoon, falling to Emmaus.

The Green Hornets won nine of the 12 events contested and claimed a 112-74 triumph. The loss was North Penn's first setback since the 1987 season, before some of the school's current swimmers were even born. That 1987 loss was also to Emmaus.

North Penn has long been the dominant male swimming program in Pennsylvania, capturing 11 state titles, including the last two. The Knights have won six state crowns since the 1997 season.
