Wildcat Women Upend No. 21 Indiana, 159-141

BLOOMINGTON, IN, November 7. FOUR different Wildcats achieved NCAA 'B' standard times as Northwestern defeated the No. 21 Indiana Hoosiers, 159-141, Friday afternoon in Bloomington, according to NU reports.

Seniors Brielle Bovee (Winter Park, Fla./Lake Highland Prep) and Christy Olin (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West), junior Katie Paglini (Chicago, Ill./Latin School) and freshman Andrea Hupman (Lawrenceville, Ga./Brookwood) swam 'B' standard times in five events.
"We really had an outstanding meet," NU Head Coach Jimmy Tierney said. "We had some girls swimming times they were hitting at the end of last season. This was probably one of our best meets in the last couple of years."

Hupman swam two 'B' standards, winning the 200 free in 1:50.50 and the 100 free in 51.04. Bovee earned her mark by winning the 200 breast in 2:17.01, Olin made her time by swimming a 2:01.26 to take the 200 fly and Paglini reached the benchmark with a 2:04.21 meet-best time in the 200 IM.

Paglini missed a second 'B' standard time by just one-tenth of a second with a 2:01.88 in winning the 200 back.

Bovee also won the 100 breast (1:04.05) while Olin captured the 100 fly (56.67).

Wildcat diver Leanne Dumais (Ventura, Calif. /Buena) defeated four Hoosier divers to earn victory on the three-meter board with a score of 269.62.

With the win, NU's dual record improves to 2-0, 1-0 in the Big Ten. The Hoosiers fall to 1-2, 0-1 in the conference.

Northwestern returns to action next weekend, hosting dual meets with Purdue Friday and Wisconsin Saturday.
