Swimming Canada Board Announces Dismissal of National Coach

OTTAWA, Ontario, CANADA, September 9. SWIMMING Canada President, Rob Colburn, has announced the dismissal of National Coach and Director, High Performance, Dave Johnson, as one step in the review of the organization’s technical program.
“Swimming Canada is committed to the development of a successful high performance program”, stated Rob Colburn. “It is now time for new leadership of this program as we embark on an ambitious campaign to ensure progressive results through the next quadrennial.”
A complete analysis of the Technical program is underway, as directed by the Board in April 2004. The analysis is reviewing all aspects of the Technical program, from club and age group development to junior and senior team programs. Extensive consultation among the swimming community, including coaches and swim clubs, will be undertaken as part of this comprehensive analysis. Results are expected by December 2004, just prior to the anticipated appointment of a new Director General (CEO).
