Ohio’s Shannon Kelly Named MAC Swimmer of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio, January 27. OHIO Senior Shannon Kelly (Vandergrift, Pa.) was named Mid-American conference Swimmer of the Week, announced the league office today.

Kelly led the Bobcats to a 155-145 win over Bowling Green last Saturday winning two individual events as well as anchoring two relay teams to first place finishes.

Kelly swam a 2:06.68 in the 200-butterfly and a 57.78 in the 100, both career best. For the year, Kelly has accumulated 16 individual victorious in 22 tries winning eight different events.

She also led the 200-medley relay team and the 400- freestyle to victory opening the 200-medley relay with a 27.87 backstroke split and posting a 51.76 split in the 400-freestyle relay.

The Ohio University women's swimming and diving team will be back in action on Senior Day Saturday, Jan. 31, when the Bobcats host Marshall at 1 p.m. in the Ohio University Aquatic Center. Before the meet Ohio will honor its six seniors.
