Bricker Wins Platform at FINA Grand Prix

ROME, Italy, June 3. Auburn sophomore Matt Bricker scored a 440.64 on the platform to place first while teammate Caesar Garcia was third with a 402.36 as competition continued at the FINA Grand Prix in Rome, Italy, on Tuesday.

Bricker, the 2002 Southeastern Conference Platform Champion, was sidelined for the 2003 SEC Championships but had a solid year at the NCAAs, placing fifth while Garcia, the 2003 SEC Platform Champion, also claimed the 2003 NCAA Platform Champion title. The FINA Grand Prix was based on six optionals.

The divers will return to Auburn for the United State Diving Geographic Zone B Championships this upcoming Friday, June 6 through Sunday, June 8 at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center. Competition will begin each day will begin at 11 a.m. CT with springboard competitions being held on Friday and Saturday and the platform on Sunday.
