Courtney Kalisz Smashes National Age Group Marks in Backstroke, Fly

SEWELL, NJ., March 25. TWELVE year-old Courtney Kalisz of the North Baltimore Aquatic Club (NBAC) set three U.S. national age group (NAG) records on Sunday, March 23.

The records were set at the Eastern Zone Region II
Sectionals held at the Gloucester County Institute of Technology in Sewell, NJ.

Kalisz swam 2:01.73 for the 200 yard backstroke in the preliminary session of the meet, breaking the previous mark of 2:03.19 by 1.46 seconds. The time also
qualifies her for USA Nationals.

Kalisz then swam 2:05.21 in the 200 butterfly in the prelims, breaking the previous mark of 2:06.27. In the finals, she lowered the standard to 2:03.29 — 2.98 seconds under the previous record.
