Cleveland Natives Sign with Delta State

CLEVELAND, Miss., Dec. 17. DELTA State University head swimming and diving coach Ronnie Mayers announced that Cleveland natives James Warrington and Tyler
Godwin have signed national letters of intent to swim for the Statesmen in 2003-2004.

Warrington is a senior at Cleveland High under coach Steven Craddock and also competes on the DSU Aquatics Club Team. He is a member of the relay team that holds the state record in the 200-yard Freestyle Relay.
He helped CHS to the 1997 Boy’s State High School Team Championship and to runner-up finishes in 1998, 2001 and 2002.

Godwin also swims for Craddock at CHS and for DSU Aquatics, holds the 100-Butterfly record in the 15-16 age group and also made the 100-meter Junior National Butterfly cut. Also holds team records in the 200-Individual Medley and 200-Freestyle and is a member of the record setting 400-Free Relay team.

Delta State hosts the 2002 DSU/Christmas Invitational this Wednesday-Friday at the DSU Aquatics Center.
