COLORADO SPRINGS, December 2. MICHIGAN took over the top spot in the semimonthly CSCAA swimming poll, achieving a #1 ranking for the first time in several years. Three-time defending champion Texas, which had led all this year, dropped to third behind Stanford.

Auburn was the unanimous choice to retain its top spot in the women's poll, followed by fast-rising Florida and last year's #2 team, Georgia.
