On the women’s side, Utah ran into a nationally-ranked team and only won one event. Amy Barefield was the lone winner when she won the 50 Free (24.82).
"We ran into a team who finished 15th in the NCAA’s last year and our youth showed. We need to play better against teams outside of the conference. This was a learning experience for the team," adds Litzinger.
With the loss the women’s record dropped to 3-1 overall, while the men slide to 1-2. Utah will compete on Saturday Nov. 9, when the women will take on San Jose State and Santa Cruz in a double duel meet. The men will swim against Santa Cruz.
