Byron’s Back!

Two years ago, Byron Davis came within a whisker of making the 1996 U.S. Olympic Team. Leading the 100m butterfly for almost the entire race at Trials, he faded the last 10 meters to finish 4th.

Since then, Davis, 27, has been coaching, writing for Swimming World, conducting swim clinics for kids and giving motivational speeches for corporate execs. Now he’s decided there’s still some speed left in the old bones. Davis has been training for the last several months and plans to compete at Nationals this summer.
