James Madison Coach Resigns

HARRISONBURG, Va., July 1. GWYNN Harrison has resigned her position as head coach of women's swimming at James Madison University.

Harrison guided the Dukes to the 2001 Colonial Athletic Association Championship and to three
second-place finishes during her four years at the helm.

Harrison was twice voted by her peers as the CAA women's swimming coach of the year, sharing the award in 1999-2000 and solely claiming the honor in
2000-01. Her teams were also honored by the College Swimming Coaches Association of America as Academic All-America teams.

The Dukes finished 7-4 this past season and combined for a four-year dual record of 28-18-1.

A search for Harrison's successor will begin immediately.
