Germany Names 34-Person Team for Euro Champs: Franzi, Stockbauer, Volker and Rupprath Lead the Way

KASSEL, Germany, May 28. WORLD champion Hannah Stockbauer, and world record-holders Franziska van Almsick, Sandra Völker and Thomas Rupprath will lead a 34-person German team to contest the 2002 European Championships in Berlin next July.

South African Sarah Poewe was not named to the team, thoughs she holds both South African and German citizenship. Lars Conrad and Janne Schaefer will be given an additional chance to qualify for the team as they were sick during the just-completed Trials.

The team includes four rookies: Ernest Fahrland, Moritz Zimmer, Leif-Marten Krueger and Carolin Boehm.
