Marlins of Raleigh Swimathon Helps Family of Victim of 9-11 Attack

RALEIGH, NC, Feb. 8. THE Marlins Of Raleigh Swim Team (MOR), a new team coached by long-time Raleigh area coach, Paul Silver, held its first-ever Swimathon on
Tuesday February 5.

The fundraiser ws unique because a portion of the proceeds went to a trust fund for the children of Christopher Wodenschek, brother of MOR parent
Mariellen DeLellis. Mr. Wodenschek was killed in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center on September 11th and left behind a wife and five children.

With just 35 swimmers, MOR raised $5500.

"The attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon will be etched in people's minds, just as the death of President Kennedy was for earlier generations," said Coach Silver.

"Unfortunately it hit us here in Raleigh, as Matt DeLellis' uncle was at work in the WTC that day in New York. We felt it would be a way for our swimmers to give back to those affected most profoundly by these
horrible events. I have been warmed by the response of our swimmers and parents who have almost unanimously and generously participated in this
fundraising event.

"Although we have a relatively small team, we hope our
contribution to the Wodenschek children's trust will help give them some peace in knowing others are thinking of them and trying to lessen their pain.

"We hope that in some small way our swimmers feel a part of giving unselfishly to a family in need," said Silver.
