Delta State University Defeats Henderson State, Falls to Drury University

CLEVELAND — Delta State University Swimming and Diving hosted its final regular season dual meet defeating Henderson State but fell victim to Drury University here Saturday at the DSU Aquatics Center. The meet is also senior day, as DSU head coach Ronnie Mayers honored eight seniors for four years of hard work and dedication. Among the honorees were Jennifer Armstrong, Tara Baily, Kristen Raven, Noelle Wehrle, Courtney Sternard, Tuguy Anguy, Neil Stowe, and David Young. Delta State’s men were 93-45 winners over Henderson State while Drury claimed a 102-43 triumph over the Statesmen. The Lady Statesmen won easily over the HSU 110-28 but like the men fell to Drury, 100-47. Five pool records fell on the afternoon. Christen Rhodes of Drury swam a record 10:33.33 in the women’s 1000-Freestyle. Drury’s Stephanie Haynes totaled 280.35 points and Nate Brisley had a score of 302.60 to break record in the 1-meter diving. Haynes later broke the record in the 3-meter diving with a scored of 267.90. Mike Schluckebier scored 336.60 points to set the men’s 3-meter diving mark Delta State hosts the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference Championships on February 14-16
