NCAA Div. I Women: SMU’s Coach Collins Picks Up 100th Win

HOUSTON, Jan. 26. THE No. 9 SMU women's swimming & diving team completed its weekend sweep Saturday afternoon, defeating Houston, 136-99, picking up the 100th dual meet victory for head coach Steve Collins on the hilltop. Collins had 99 wins at SMU entering Saturday's meet.

SMU won ten of the 13 events, including the first five races to start the meet.

Junior Lotta Wanberg led the Mustangs with two wins, touching first in both the 200 IM and the 500 free event. Lotta's sister, Lisa, won the 50 free event as well.

Other winners for the Ponies were Anu Koivisto, Alenka Kejzar, Debbie Forinash, and Julia Pomeroy.

SMU also finished first in both the 400 medley relay and 400 free relay.

The Mustangs, 4-3, will next be in action Feb. 9 at 1:00 p.m. when they host No. 2 Texas at Perkins Natatorium.
