USA Water Polo Hires Takeshi Inoue as Chief International Delegate

HUNTINGTON BEACH, California, July 18. USA Water Polo, the national governing body for the sport in America, has named Takeshi Inoue as chief international delegate. In this volunteer position, Mr. Inoue will work to represent and coordinate USA Water Polo interests with the Fédération Internationale de Natation (FINA), Unión Americana de Natación (UANA), United States Aquatic Sports (USAS), as well as other international bodies and national federations.

"We are delighted to appoint Takeshi Inoue to this new role," said Christopher Ramsey, General Secretary of USA Water Polo as well as CEO. "Takeshi brings a wealth of experience and a great many friendships to this responsibility, and I am confident that he will help us to effectively articulate and coordinate our efforts going forward."

Mr. Inoue joins a number of other Americans currently appointed to significant positions within international sport. These include William Smith, Vice President of USAS and a USA Water Polo board member, Richard Foster, Vice Chairman of the FINA Technical Water Polo Committee, and Steven J. Rotsart, member of the Referee Executive Counsel, and Andy Takata and Lynn Wittstock, both members of the UANA Technical Water Polo Committee.

Mr. Inoue was born in Tokyo and played water polo for the Japanese national team. He also played at California State University at Long Beach and was granted United States citizenship in 2005. In 2007, he founded the United Water Polo Club. A past member of the Japanese Water Polo Committee and an honorary member of the International Water Polo Referee Association (AIA), Mr. Inoue attended most of the world's top water polo tournaments during the past 15 years in various capacities.
