FINA World Championships: Special Correspondent Dave Walters Checks In From U.S. Staging Camp in Australia

SHANGHAI, China, July 17. FROM time to time, Olympic gold medalist Dave Walters will be providing an inside look into the U.S. Staging Camp held in Australia as a special correspondent for Swimming World.

Walters earned his gold medal as a preliminary relay swimmer on the 800 free relay at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He also has won a pair of world titles in 800 free relay action, one in 2007 and the other in 2009. He was also a member of the world title squad for the U.S. in the 400 medley relay in 2009.

Today, Walters provides a highlight package from the training trip in Surfers Paradise. The team engaged in a morning practice, and also took time to enjoy the beach.
