Texas Senior Circuit, Austin: Katie Riefenstahl Doubles

AUSTIN, Texas, July 9. KATIE Riefenstahl doubled up on the second full night of long course meter action at the Texas Senior Circuit meet held in Austin.

Riefenstahl snared the women's 200 free title in 2:01.97, while FCST's Simone Manuel, 14, claimed second in 2:02.97. Leah Gingrich completed the top three in 2:03.27. Riefenstahl doubled up with a 2:13.86 to dominate the women's 200 back finale. Longhorn's Wylie Escobedo took second in 2:17.50, while KATY's Cameron McHugh, 15, snatched third in 2:17.99.

Longhorn's Brendan Hansen won his second breaststroke title in two days with an easy 1:01.59 in the men's 100 breast. He captured the 200 breast last night as well. Training partners Christian Schurr (1:03.32) and Eric Friedland (1:03.62) gave Longhorn the podium sweep with second and third place finishes.

Longhorn's Kathleen Hersey cracked 1:00 in the women's 100 fly to win in 59.58, while teammate Kelsey Amundsen took second in 1:01.53. COM's Natalie Hinds finished third in 1:01.91. CFSC's Neil Caskey edged teammate Cole Cragin, 54.71 to 54.72, in the men's 100 fly finale. Woody Joye placed third in 54.81.

Laura Sogar cruised to victory in the women's 100 breast with a 1:10.77, matching her 200 breast victory from day one. CFSC's Catherine Wagner took second in 1:11.88, while Aggie's Erica Dittmer touched third in 1:12.50. Gingrich turned in a 4:53.53 to win the women's 400 IM. SCAT's Sarah Peterson earned second in 4:53.81, while CFSC's Chelsie Miller picked up third in 4:55.80.

Longhorn's Dax Hill captured the men's 200 free crown in 1:50.25, while Joye finished second in 1:52.13. Austin Surhoff wound up third in 1:52.94. Nadadores' Aaron Greene, 16, claimed the men's 200 back in 2:01.19. Patrick Murphy touched second in 2:03.51, while Surhoff picked up a second podium with a third-place 2:04.82.

Hayes Johnson stopped the clock in 4:26.18 for the men's 400 IM triumph. YHF's Ty Stewart, 16, placed second in 4:30.56, while Longhorn's Jackson Wilcox took third overall in 4:32.66.

Aggie's Paige Miller (30.08) and Tess Simpson (30.34) placed first and second in the women's 50 back, while FCST's Simone Manuel, 14, took third in 30.68. Madison Wenzler clocked a 26.95 to win the men's 50 back. Aggie's Nik Denisyako took second in 26.96, while teammate John Ariens placed third in 27.52.
