USA Water Polo Appoints Marketing Director

LOS ANGELES, July 13. ERIC Tiettmeyer has been appointed the new Marketing and Publicity Director for USA Water Polo.

Tiettmeyer's responsibilities include finding new members for USA Water Polo through on-campus promotions, televised events, direct marketing in the organization's bi-monthly magazine – Water Polo Scoreboard – and through the popular website.

In addition, Tiettmeyer will handle all media relations, press releases and guides, event programs, and other public relations responsibilities.

Tiettmeyer replaces Rich McEvoy who is leaving USA Water Polo to pursue other interests.

"It is a great feeling to join a reputable organization like USA Water Polo. I see many ways USA Water Polo can increase its membership, and look
forward to spearheading these operations," said Tiettmeyer.

Tiettmeyer brings a strong knowledge of the game of water polo. He played water polo at Loyola High School for four years and Saddleback College for two years. At Saddleback, the team finished top ten in the state in Tiettmeyer's first year. Tiettmeyer was named rookie of the year for the team and 2nd team All- League.

Tiettmeyer also brings years of experience in writing about water polo. Tiettmeyer covered the UC Irvine Water Polo team for his three years at the university.

In 1998, the team had one of its best seasons, ranking 5th in the country. Since the three years that Tiettmeyer covered the team, five players have made the US Men's National Water Polo Team.

Tiettmeyer also brings strong marketing and publishing skills. Tiettmeyer has been called the "Campus Capitalist" by Entrepreneur Magazine and
"Globetrotting Guy" by the Orange County Register,/i> based on a magazine, Student World Traveler, that he began in 1997, The magazine has since grown into a nationally distributed publication in over 1000 colleges and 400 youth hostels.

Tiettmeyer loves the water. He enjoys surfing, competitive ocean swimming, and water polo. Since 1994, Tiettmeyer has competed in the annual San
Clemente Ocean Festival. In 1994, he won the 1/2 mile swim competition among 400 participants.
