Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships: Day Two

BUFFALO, New York, February 17. THE Rider University men's and the Marist College women's swimming and diving teams continue to lead the league after two days of competition at the 2012 MAAC Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, held at the Flickinger Athletic Center at Erie Community College.
The Rider men maintain their lead with 533.50 points, while Marist stands in second place with 419 points. Canisius College is in third with 410 points, followed by Loyola University Maryland (374), Fairfield University (218), Iona College (209), Saint Peter's College (205), Niagara University (184) and Manhattan College (149.50).

On the women's side, the Red Foxes have tallied 541.50 points, while Rider sits in second place with 448.50 points. Loyola is in third with 348 points, followed by Iona (256), Fairfield (223), Canisius (222.50), Siena College (185.50), Niagara (166), Saint Peter's (149) and Manhattan (57).

In tonight's session, Canisius' Shawn Parkhurst defended his individual title in the 1000 Free with a time of 9:12.43, setting both a MAAC and ECC pool record. Iona's Jamie Manser did the same in the women 100 Breast, resetting both records after taking the top spot for the second consecutive year with a time of 1:01.50.
