Michigan Girls Division 3 State Championships

HOLLAND, Michigan, December 14. EAST Grand Rapids scored 313 points to win the Michigan Girls Division 3 State Championships, held Nov. 19th-20th. Cranbrook-Kingswood (224.5 points) and Milan (159 points) finished in second and third place. While only one Division 3 record was broken, there were several double-event winners at the meet.

Ally Bremer of East Grand Rapids showed off her versatility, taking home state titles in the 200 IM (2:07.68) and 100 back (58.23).

Andover's Jayme Groth established herself as the fastest freestyler at the meet, earning wins in the 50 free in 23.49 and 100 free in 51.48.

Milan's Heather Kiger set the only Division 3 record of the meet, winning the 100 fly in 56.99.

Brooke Edwards of the Vikings (200 free, 1:55.37), Olivia Kassouni of East Grand Rapids (1-meter diving, 435.80 points), Kylie Powrie of Cranbrook (500 free, 5:05.52) and Anna Stephens of East Grand Rapids (100 breast, 1:05.70) all won individual events as well.

Milan raced to victory in both free relays, touching in 1:38.18 in the 200 and 3:35.72 in the 400. East Grand Rapids took the opening 200 medley relay in 1:48.82.
