Franklin and Marshall vs. Bryn Mawr

BRYN MAWR, Pennsylvania, November 5. SOPHOMORE Meredith Davis touched-out in first place in the 200 IM and the 100 freestyle but it was not enough to fend-off the defending Centennial Conference Champions Franklin & Marshall. The Diplomats swept the relays in addition to six individual races to defeat Bryn Mawr, 127-72, Friday evening.

In the 200 IM, not only did Davis win the race by more than six-seconds but she added her name to the top ten list in the process. Her time of 2:19.18 is sixth fastest in program history and earned the team nine points. In the closest finish of the meet, Davis edged Katherine Decrosta by four-one hundredths of a second in the 100 free. Swimming a 56.64, Davis was able to outstretch past Decrosta at the wall to claim her second victory of the meet.

Jessica Arbon, reigning Bryn Mawr College Owl of the Week, finished third in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 11:58.28.

Mairin O'Connor and Sarah Blatchly finished fourth in the 50 free and 200 free, respectively. Judy Yeung also took home fourth place in the 100 backstroke.

The 400 free relay of Davis, O'Connor, Su Oner and Yeung finished in third place with a time of 4:32.65.

The Owls return to the water on Saturday, November 13, when they play host Gettysburg at 1:00 pm inside the Bern Schwartz Fitness and Athletic Center.
