Hope vs. Albion

ALBION, Michigan, October 29. HOPE'S swimming and diving teams opened the dual meet portion of their seasons with conference victories over host Albion on Friday. The Flying Dutchmen gained a 133-95 victory while the Flying Dutch gained a 136-101 triumph.

In the women's meet, sophomore Libby Westrate won the 50 free (:25.06) and 500 frees (5:30.48). Other winners included Sarah Sohn, 200 free (2:02.89); Ashley Jasperse, 200 IM (2:20.10); Kyleigh Sheldon, one-meter diving (230.93); Maria Kieft, 100 backstroke (1:05.08) and Bethany Schmall, 100 butterfly (:56.99).

Diver Michael Heydlauff won on both the one-meter (215.18) and three-meter (245.85) boards. Other winners included Josh Grabijas, 1,000 free (10:07.65); Jeff Shade, 200 free (1:52.16); Anthony Baar, 50 free (:23.46); Geoffrey Ludema, 100 breaststroke (1:02.30); Jacob Hunt, 100 free (:49.28); and Aaron Rittenhouse, 100 butterfly (:56.98).
