Gulf Swimming Honors Coaches, Volunteers at Annual Banquet

HOUSTON, Texas, September 28. GULF Swimming held their 19th Annual Awards Banquet at the Marriott Westchase in Houston this past Sunday. 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist Cullen Jones was the featured speaker and he spoke to the attendees about his experiences that lead up to his competing in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

The Gulf LSC also honored their membership and bestowed its annual awards.

Allison Beebe of the First Colony Swim Team was honored as the Coach of the Year while Shana Trabona of The Woodlands Swim Team was recognized as the Age Group Coach of the Year.

Louis Davis was recognized as the recipient of the R.S. "Bob" Stallings Officials Award and Chris Day was honored with the ConocoPhillips Outstanding Service Award

Gulf Swimming is the Local Swimming Committee of USA Swimming which encompasses the Houston and Gulf Coast areas.
