Mission Viejo Celebrates U.S. National Age Group Relay Record

MISSION VIEJO, California, August 3. A foursome from the Mission Viejo Nadadores broke the U.S. national age group record in the boys' 13-14 800 long course meters freestyle relay at the 2010 California Junior Olympic Summer Championships, held in their home pool.

Matthew Chalcarz, Patrick Early, Connor Dobbs and Janardan Burns posted a sizzling fast 8:04.91 in the event today, breaking the old record of 8:06.82 held by Conor Sweeney, David Cox, Matthew Ellis and Eric Dirvin of Longhorn Aquatics since 2007.

Here are the splits for each swimmer:

Chalcarz: 2:02.27
Early: 2:00.74
Dobbs: 2:04.15
Burns: 1:57.75
