Lithuanian Long Course Nationals: Kristina Kontrimas Downs National Mark

ALYTUS, Lithuania, July 2. TWO days down, two national records in the book at the Lithuanian Long Course Nationals being held in Alytus this weekend.

Kristina Kontrimas lowered the national record in the women's 400 free with a time of 4:25.84. That performance eclipsed the previous mark of 4:26.26 set in 2004 by Lina Daugvilaite. Jurate Deerbinskaite took second in 4:31.38, while Guoda Jonelyte earned third in 4:40.12.

Simas Piaukas topped the men's 400 free in 4:06.77, while Povilas Strazdas touched second in 4:17.60. Mindaugas Kueinskas placed third in 4:27.67. Inga Dukyte claimed the women's 100 back in 1:07.23 with Ugne Maputaityte finishing second in 1:09.76. Laura Dobrovolskaite took third in 1:10.01. Matas Andriekus finished first in the men's 100 back with a 57.59. Justinas Bilis (58.54) and Eimantas Vijaikis (59.21) rounded out the top three.

Jekaterina Kiseliova won the women's 50 breast in 33.10, while Raminta Dvariokyte took second in 33.66. Urte Kazakevieiute wound up third in 33.78. Giedrius Titenis (28.70), Vaidotas Blapys (29.29) and Edvinas Dautartas (29.36) completed the podium in the men's 50 breast.

Aiste Dobrovolskaite captured the women's 200 fly in 2:23.81, while Viltaute Paplauskaite earned second in 2:39.46. Dovile Slapoyte took home third in 2:40.13. Edgaras Dtura snatched the men's 200 fly with Artiom Deemeliov (2:15.48) and Tautvydas Cinelis (2:18.85) touching second and third.

Grite Apanavieiute topped the women's 50 free in 26.59, while Rugile Mileioyte finished second in 26.63. Eveline Bieleckaite took third in 26.64. Paulius Viktoravieius (23.37) and Sadauskas (23.49) went 1-2 in the men's 50 free, while Edvinas Apeinikovas and Bilis tied for third with matching 23.89s.

Laura Dobrovolskaite went from third in the women's 100 back to winning the women's 200 IM with a 2:32.23. Evelina Rudyte (2:37.67) and Ingrida Jurkute (2:38.35) picked up second and third. Vytautas Janusaitis won the men's 200 IM in 2:02.76, while Tadas Duokinas (2:11.06) and Eimantas Vijaikis (2:11.75) finished a distant second and third.
