Phoenix Summer Invitational: Tucson Ford Sweeps Distance Night

PHOENIX, Arizona, June 17. NIGHT one of long course meter swimming is in the books at the Phoenix Summer Invitational, and Tucson Ford earned both the 1500 freestyle titles.

Tucson Ford's Susana Helms claimed the women's 1500 freestyle title with a time of 17:15.58. DU Hilltopper Paige Newell placed second overall in 17:23.66, while Megan Gallagher placed third in 17:29.58.

Tucson Ford completed the first night sweep when Bobby Koubratoff posted a 16:24.99 for the men's 1500 free victory. DU Hilltopper P.J. Wickwire wound up second in 16:26.06, while Alamo Area's Donnie Walker snatched third in 16:33.06.
