Another Olympic Gold Medal Stolen, Mike Troy Offering Reward

TEMPE, Arizona, April 30. ACCORDING to an article on the site InMaricopa.com, Olympic gold medalist Mike Troy had a gold medal from the 1960 Olympics Games stolen recently.

"I had put the medal around a kid's neck, turned my back to talk to another group, and the next thing I knew the medal was gone," he told InMaricopa.com. "I am devastated it is gone; I should have been paying better attention. I can just imagine a parent finding the medal in the back of their stroller and wondering whom it belongs to."

Troy won a pair of gold medals at the 1960 Olympics held in Rome. He won the 200 fly, and was a member of the gold-medal winning 800 freestyle relay at the meet. Troy also is an International Swimming Hall of Famer, and has been inducted into the Indiana University Hall of Fame.

Troy is offering a reward for the safe return of his medal; to reach him, call 480-227-1247 or by e-mail mike2gold60@yahoo.com.
