U.S. Junior National Synchro Championships Make Debut in Austin

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana, March 23. NEARLY 200 elite synchronized swimmers will gather at the University of Texas at Austin, Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center, March 25-27 for the 2010 U.S. Junior National Synchronized Swimming Championships. The event will feature athletes ages 15-18, who will vie for Junior National Titles in the solo, duet, team and combo events. The competition marks the first U.S. Synchronized Swimming National Championship held in Austin and will be hosted by the Austin Angelfish and the University of Texas at Austin, Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.

Top routines will advance to the 2010 U.S. National Championships which will take place April 15-17, in Huntersville, N.C. Following the conclusion of competition on Saturday, the 2010 U.S. Synchronized Swimming National Team Training Squad will perform. Admission to the performance will be included with the price of Saturday's admission.

Tickets for Saturday's finals competition will be $10 for adults and $5 for youth (ages 6-12) and senior citizens. Admission on Thursday and Friday is free of charge. On Saturday, March 27, the Austin Angelfish will host a "Give Synchro a Try" clinic, following the awards ceremony. Admission is free of charge.
