Oklahoma 5A High School State Championships

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma, March 10. BISHOP McGuinness and Altus walked away with state titles at the Oklahoma 5A High School State Championships. On the girls' side, Bishop McGuinness tallied 280 points while Fort Gibson took second (208) and Classen Sas placed third (159). Meanwhile, the Altus boys won with 286 points followed by Bixby (254) and Heritage Hall (211).

Girls Results
Bishop McGuinness won two of three relays. Erin Gaffney, Danielle Pena (the 500 free champ in 5:52.72), Amee Pena, and Lizzy Whitbeck won the 200 medley relay (1:57.82) and the 400 freestyle relay (3:51.10). A. Pena also won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:01.59.

Whitebeck won the 200 IM (2:08.93) and the 100 breaststroke (1:09.46).

Chelsea Ye (Classen Sas) was a dual event winner in the 200 and 100 freestyles. She clocked times of 1:51.76 and 51.47, respectively.

Lilli Thomas (Altus) had individual wins in the 50 freestyle (24.97) and the 100 butterfly (1:00.38).

Fort Gibson's Hannah Cantrell, Zoe DeCamp, Brandy Kennicutt, and Cassie Freeling won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:47.81.

Boys Results
Altus won two of three relays. Aniel Robbins, Drew Thomas (the 50 free champ in 21.65), E.J. Bacon, and Brady George won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:41.00.

Chickasha's Issac McKnight was a dual event winner in the 200 (1:41.35) and 100 (46.06) freestyles.

Narayan Naik (Heritage Hall) had individual wins in the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke. He clocked times of 1:54.83 and 51.20, respectively. He teamed up with Matt Veneklasen, Jogn Byford, and Naresh Naik for a win in the 200 freestyle relay (1:31.63).

Deer Creek's Typ Whinnery won the 500 freestyle (4:48.55) and the 100 breaststroke (56.57).

Robbins, Michael Rogers, George, and Thomas closed the meet with a first-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay.
