Texas 4A High School State Championships

AUSTIN, Texas, March 5. DALLAS Highland Park and Humble Kingwood Park walked away with state titles at the Texas 4A High School State Championships. The Dallas Highland Park girls took first with 232 points followed by Frisco (227) and Magnolia (164). On the boys' side, Humble Kingwood Park tallied 277 points for first while Texarkana Texas placed second (159) and San Antonio Alamo Heights finished third (151).

Girls Results
Frisco won two of three relays. Ryann Lawley, Amber Jenkins, Melanie McDonough, and Allie Walsh won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:48.62.

Allison Arnold (Dallas Highland Park) was a dual event winner in the 200 and 500 freestyles. She clocked times of 1:50.21 and 4:50.42, respectively.

Emily Neubert (Waco Midway) had individual wins in the 50 (23.79) and 100 (56.06) freestyles.

Frisco's Whitney Allen won the 200 IM with a time of 2:05.96. She teamed up with McDonough, Walsh and Lauren Jones won the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:38.30.

Top finishers in the diving competition include Kara McCormack (Austin Johnson) (479.40), Zoe Alaniz (CC Ray) (437.25), and Lindsey Streepey (Dallas Highland Park) (425.40).

Meredith Kelly, Emma Gruber, Katie Streepey, and Arnold finished first in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:34.27.

Boys Results
Humble Kingwood Park won all three relays. Brooks Powell (the 50 freestyle champ in 20.98), Garrett Stewart, Mark Dix, and Chris Amoruso won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:33.80. Stewart and Dix had individual wins in the 100 breaststroke (59.19) and the 100 butterfly (50.11), respectively.

Will Chandler (Waco Midway) won the diving competition with 445.95 points. Aidan Scribbick (SA Alamo Heights) took second (415.50) and Matt McKinnerney (Rosenberg Lamar) placed third (410.05).

Joseph Stanton (Humble Kingwood Park) won the 100 freestyle in 45.84. He teamed up with Dix, Amoruso and Barrett Johannsen for a win in the 200 freestyle relay (1:25.27).

Other first-place finishers include Bobby Button (Mansfield Timberview) in the 200 freestyle (1:39.81), Adam Bull (Richardson Pearce) in the 200 IM (1:54.20), Chris Griffin (Austin Lake Travis) in the 500 freestyle (4:33.73), and Timothy Wylie (Dripping Springs) in the 100 backstroke (51.09).

Powell, Dix, Johannsen, and Stanton closed the meet with a win in the 400 freestyle relay (3:09.20).
