Washington Boys 4A High School State Championships

FEDERAL WAY, Washington, February 22. SHOREWOOD, Gig Harbor and Inglemoor were top finishers at the Washington Boys 4A High School State Championships. Shorewood tallied 194 points for first followed by Gig Harbor (179) and Inglemoor (173).

Shorewood won two of three relays. Thor Stenfjord, Mackey Hopen, Marcus Gill, and Colin Bell won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:38.20. Stenfjord also won the 100 freestyle in 47.69.

Snohomish's Garren Riechel was a dual event winner in the 50 freestyle and the 100 breaststroke. He clocked times of 20.91 and 55.63, respectively. His teammate, Bryan Harvey, won the 100 butterfly with a time of 49.29.

Stenfjord, Gill, Leif Danielson, and Hopen won the 200 freestyle relay (1:28.25).

Sophomore Eddie Young won the diving competition with 404.50 points. Joe Rose of South Kitsap took second (375.85) and Ludomir Wanot of Todd Beamer placed third (361.70).

Other first-place finishers include: Ian Wheeler (Eisenhower) in the 200 freestyle (1:40.14), Shane Clare (Todd Beamer) in the 200 IM (1:55.54), Reid Walker (Garfield) in the 500 freestyle (4:33.03), and Bart Wanot (Todd Beamer) in the 100 backstroke (50.96).

Tyler Kaslik, Will Frame, Dakota Moist, and Spencer Neff (Gig Harbor) teamed up for a win in the 400 freestyle relay (3:13.40).
